Monday Madness

Hello all. I apologize for the pause in blog writing. When I began this website while also writing a book, I did not take into account how much work both would be. I fell off on my blog writing to write the book. And now I am a published author!!! I thought I would be able to keep up with the blog once published...wrong again. Between marketing the book and attempting to live my life this again took back seat. I am finally back!

I titled today's post Monday Madness because right now that is where my brain is residing...madness. I was down for the count yesterday with a migraine and today have some residual but am thankful to be up and around. My mind is spinning with all of the things I need to do.

-Get back to managing this website and writing this blog post

-Organize my craft room after having a show on Saturday (yes I have decided to do one show a month)

-Clean the house, do dishes, laundry, etc.

-Decorate for Christmas (I still haven't gotten it down from the attic and feel behind)

-Wrap Christmas presents, shop for what I still need to get

-Get on my rowing machine

AHHHHH!

And, as you can see I am dealing with madness. First of all, I should let you know when I am in the "post-ictal" phase of a migraine I am completely spastic and am like a child with ADHD and unfortunately there is no medication to help. So, today I have had to stop and take some of my own advice.

"Hey Amanda, remember that book you wrote?" Oh yeah, I did write an entire chapter on mindfulness. So, before sitting down to write this blog, I centered myself with a little meditative breathing and then I was able to sit down and begin to write and actually focus on one task without pinging all over the house.

See, we all have days where we need a little help. I constantly have to revisit my own words in order to "fix" myself and there is no shame in needing a little help or reminder every now and then.
